Just came across this wonderful piece of writing by Jay Garmon, a TechRepublic’s professional. I couldn’t stop myself from sharing this through my blog. I found it very interesting; you too will find it much to your amusement… :)
When someone asks if you’re a god, you say yes!“–the organized practitioners of Googlism have brought forth many of the trappings of more mainstream religions Google is a more useful object of worship than most competing theological entities. After all, Google queries are prayers that actually get answered, though often mysteriously.
And, for good measure, we give you The Ten Commandments of Googlism:
1. Thou shall have no other Search Engine before me, neither Yahoo nor Lycos, AltaVista nor Metacrawler. Thou shall worship only me, and come to Google only for answers.
2. Thou shall not build thy own commercial-free Search Engine, for I am a jealous Engine, bringing law suits and plagues against the fathers of the children unto the third and fourth generations.
3. Thou shall not use Google as a verb to mean the use of any lesser Search Engine.
4. Thou shall remember each passing day and use thy time as an opportunity to gain knowledge of the unknown.
5. Thou shall honor thy fellow humans, regardless of gender, sexual orientation or race, for each has invaluable experience and knowledge to contribute toward humankind.
6. Thou shall not misspell whilst praying to me.
7. Thou shall not hotlink.
8. Thou shall not plagiarize or take undue credit for other’s work.
9. Thou shall not use reciprocal links nor link farms, for I am a vengeful but fair engine and will diminish thy Page Rank. The Google Dance shall cometh.
10. Thou shall not manipulate Search Results. Search Engine Optimization is but the work of Microsoft.
These commandments are scary for seo service companies. But every marketing person who follows these commandments is blessed by GOOGLE GOD by good page rank and higher google rankings. Understanding Search Engine Behavior: How search engines work.
11th November 2008, 06:13
The very first lesson every person entering the internet marketing world should know is how search engines work and rank sites. Search engines are not humans and thus the way humans and search engines view pages on internet is different. If you plan to do some basic Search Engine Optimisation, it is essential that you understand how search engines work and what techniques should be used to make your site a food for search engines and rank them high in search results.
Let’s understand the process in steps: Crawling, indexing, marking relevancy and retrieving sites is a complex process. Let’s see how search engines do it.
1. Search engines are text loving and are in fact text driven. Search engines hardly understand the other media like graphics, music, attractive designs etc. It’s only the text on a particular site that gives search crawlers or spiders an idea what that site is about. Search crawlers like Google bot are soft wares that are intelligent programs performing several activities in order to deliver search results.
2. Search engines crawl the web to see what is there. Spiders follow links from one web page to another and index everything they find on the way. It’s not possible for search crawler to reach every webpage on the net everyday. Thus it may take time to get a webpage crawled by the search engine.
3. After a page is crawled, the search crawler indexes its content and stores it in a database from where it can be retrieved later. Thus if the placing of keywords and content in a website is optimized its relevancy will be marked high and the search crawlers will show it up in the search results. Search engine optimization is one way to make the crawlers recognize the relevancy and classify your pages correctly.
4. Next comes the calculation of search relevancy. Different search engine have different relevancy criteria to reflect search results when a search query comes. That’s the reason why different search engines serve you with different search result pages. Search algorithms keep changing, thus you need to update your web pages with the changing relevancy criteria of search engine.
5. The last step is of retrieving sites when a search query is fired. The search engine matches the search string with the sites available in its database and displays the most relevant in a search browser that match the search string.
A SEO company that excels in its SEO services can be a solution to make your site search engine friendly. Consult a SEO Specialist or a Search Engine Optimisation agency that can make your site search engine oriented to let customers reach your site through search results.

Google Sandbox Effects.
2nd September 2008, 13:02
We all are aware of Google sandbox effect. For new sites entering the website market Google Sandbox is a great wall. Thus to pass by this wall smoothly and with less of sandbox effects you need to take care of certain things. Read this article to know how you and your SEO Company can protect your site from Google penalties.
1.Try launching your new site on an old or expired domain. This will give your site more chances to be safe from sandbox effects.
2.Place unique and fresh content on your web pages. Rather then uploading your whole site at the same time try uploading only a few pages and let it develop into phases.
3.Gather quality back links for the site slowly and steadily. Don’t rush to get back links from all link farms and irrelevant sites. These will do no good to your site.
4.Try optimizing your site for less popular keywords as gaming on less popular keywords can get you faster search rankings because of low competitiveness.
5.Avoid Back Hat SEO Services and learn Google guidelines by heart while optimizing your website.
Sandbox effects cannot be controlled but can be minimized so as to protect your site from penalties or complete ban by Google. Let your site’s domain age a few months and then start trying your ways to get the top rankings in the search engines. If your site has unfortunately entered into sandbox, there is no other option then being patient and see your site mature in the sandbox circle.

Organic SEO vs. PPC Advertising
30th July 2008, 12:46
All marketing people may wonder which advertising strategy should be adopted to get good ranking and higher ROI through their online business. Is it SEO that will get them higher rankings? But what about the time frame that it requires to get the site up in the organic search results. Or spending money on PPC is the best bet to generate ROI.But will that be consistent enough to let your website have a concrete online backbone?
The answers to these questions have always been perplexing. Let’s read some facts to judge which one is the best for your online business.
1.Pay-Per-Click Search Engine Advertising makes you acquire quick search engine placement by bidding for keywords related to your product or service.
While Organic search engine optimization is acquired by on page and off page optimizations that include link popularity, URL optimizations, content optimizations, competitor analysis etc that helps in acquiring consistent long lasting ranking results.
2.PPC campaigns benefits the most with an immediate boost of leads and qualified visitors generating fast ROI and tracking your conversion rates for websites..
The biggest weakness in natural search engine optimization is the time required to get the search engine rankings. It will take at least 3 months to see your keywords actually playing for your business on search engines. But the ranking would be consistent quality rankings that will last long and bring natural traffic and customers to the sites.
Thus as a matter of fact PPC advertising is good for quick returns with only disadvantage of the bidding cost involved. Whereas long term SEO Services can bring natural traffic and higher and long lasting marketing returns.

Back Link Theory Explained
10th June 2008, 12:46
We all are running after back links for our sites to get good page ranks and high search engine results. But why back links? How to follow an effective SEO back link strategy for your site?
Since we know that the leading search engine Goggle takes quality back links as an aspect of greater importance, thus a site having more natural and more quality back links will be ranked high. The idea behind this is that back links are a part of seo consultancy services and page rank algorithm consideration that Goggle uses to rank sites.
Building Back links
If your site is extraordinarily outstanding in content and service, then the other sites will automatically link to your site. This is the natural way of getting links. But you cannot always rely on natural links to come your way. So you will have to acquire other ways to get quality links for your site.
The best way to get quality links is
1.Listing your site to directories like DMOZ, Yahoo etc.
2.Inclusion of your site links with articles in article sites.
3.Creating your own blogs or listing your site in blogs with high traffic and quality
content that visitors love to read.
4.Forum posting with the use of targeted anchor text for your sites.
5.Link exchange or barter links using competitive keywords as anchor tags with sites of
your own domain avoiding link farms and irrelevant pr pages.
6.An effective professional Press release that can provide something announcing to the
visitors. Though hard but press releases do contribute in providing quality back links to
your site.
A smart link building strategy will always work in grabbing top search engine optimisation rankings and good pr for your sites. Avoid getting too many back links that can land your site in suspicious arena of search engines.
